The first performance of this specially-commissioned anthem
"Where shall wisdom be found?"
was at St. Paul's Cathedral in London at the start of
"Founder's Day" [30th March 1995],
when the whole of Loughborough Grammar School travelled down to London for the day -
teachers, secretariat, ground staff etc. - to celebrate the Quincentenary.
Although the "official" Quincenterary Celebrations were in 1995,
Her Majesty The Queen was unable to visit during that year.
A top-spec digital Allen organ was hired for the occasion, in order that the performance could take place in the Drama Studio - a performance requested by Her Majesty, as she had recently bestowed Birthday Honours on Andrew Carter. The recording was made the day before Her Majesty's visit, since recording was not allowed 'on the day'. Joining The Boys' Choir by invitation were some singers representing the Girls' High School.
Verses from Job : 28
Where shall wisdom be found? HYMN : The Fear of the Lord
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
O teach us to know imagination and insight,
O worship the Lord in understanding and wisdom, Amen
